However, Campbell did not provide any details on which players were absent, which players were out and who were limited. We were present at Thursday’s practice and took note of it for our own personal injury report. It’s worth noting that at this point in the offseason, there is no official injury report, so this is purely my own report.
I didn’t see it in practice
Names in bold refer to players not named by Campbell above
RB Jahmyr Gibbs
TE Sam LaPorta
OT Taylor Decker
Frank Ragnow
G Kayode Awosika
EDGEMarcus Davenport
EDGE Josh Pascual
EDGE James Houston
DT DJ Reader
LB Álex Anzalón
It’s unclear why Josh Paschal and James Houston weren’t at practice Thursday, but it gave more opportunities to guys like Mathieu Betts, John Cominsky and Chris Smith.
In practice, without doing anything.
DB Brian Branch
Branch was an observer at Thursday’s practice. He was still wearing a boot and a scooter, but Campbell indicated that the “cleanup” surgery he had this offseason was done in time for him to be expected to be ready for training camp.
In practice, limited
QB Nate Sudfeld
RB Caballero Zonovano
LB Derrick Barnes
CB Emmanuel Moseley
CB Terrion Arnold
CB Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
Joseph Kerby
Each of these players requires a little more explanation.
QB Nate Sudfeld -He didn’t seem to be too limited, as he participated as QB3 during 7-on-7 drills, but was left out of 11-on-11 drills.
RB Caballero Zonovan – Participated in individual tours and drills. I didn’t see him during team exercises.
LB Derrick Barnes – Participated in individual tours and drills. I didn’t see much teamwork in him. In the first team there were mainly Jack Campbell and Malcolm Rodríguez.
CB Emmanuel Moseley – Participated in courses without a helmet, but did not participate in the rest of the practice.
CB Terrion Arnold – I participated in tours and in some individual drills, but not in teams. The first team’s outside cornerbacks were mostly Carlton Davis and Kindle Vildor.
CB Ennis Rakestraw Jr. – I participated in tours and in some individual drills, but not in teams. The first team nickel cornerback was Amik Robertson.
Joseph Kerby – He was in uniform, but he didn’t really participate in practice. During walk-throughs, he was on the field as a consultant to the other defensive backs. For the rest of practice, he was rehabbing pretty aggressively, working at a pretty good pace.
The Lions have the holiday weekend off and will return to practice for Week 2 of the OTAs on Wednesday, May 29.
