Chiefs star Mecole Hardman Jr. popped the question to his girlfriend, Chariah Gordon, three years after they started dating.
The Kansas City wide receiver and his fiancée made the exciting announcement in separate Instagram posts on Thursday, with a video of Hardman’s surprise proposal.
“Say hello to the future Mr. and Mrs. Hardman,” the couple captioned their clips, which showed the 26-year-old kneeling in front of his family and friends.
The skincare mogul explained on her Instagram Story that she thought she was meeting her boyfriend for a normal date night and was dressed in low-key sweats for the occasion.
Gordon was visibly surprised when she was shown to a room decorated with white rose petals and candles, along with a huge sign that read: “Will you marry me?”

The 29-year-old was also serenaded by Jon B, who sang ‘I Do’ as she walked towards Hardman and he got down on one knee.
After asking the question, Gordon shouted, ‘Yes!’ so that his friends and family could hear.
The athlete then put a gigantic marquee-shaped diamond ring on her finger.
‘Damn boy, he’s going to pull his shoulder with that sound!’ One fan joked about the size of the ring.

The couple began dating in 2021 and made headlines when their first child was born on the day the Chiefs won the Super Bowl.

‘Welcoming our healthy baby into this world together while watching the Chiefs win the Super Bowl!! I couldn’t be happier!’ Hardman wrote on Instagram at the time, along with a photo of his newborn.
‘A father and now two-time Super Bowl champion! Thank you all for the prayers and support,’ he added.
After welcoming their son Three, Gordon gave birth to a baby girl earlier this year, although they have not shared her name or date of birth.
The engagement news comes a couple of weeks after Taylor Swift made headlines for celebrating Hardman’s contract extension with the Chiefs.
On June 6, the reigning Super Bowl champions gave the receiver a one-year extension to remain in Kansas City.
During the team’s ring ceremony, the pop star joined Gordon’s livestream and took to the comments to praise her boyfriend’s teammate Travis Kelce.
The wide receiver also received a shout out from Taylor Swift after re-signing with the team.
“AND WE HAVE ANOTHER YEAR OF MECOLE,” Swift wrote, adding a crown emoji.
The Georgia alum previously spoke about his exchange with the Love Story singer after catching the game-winning touchdown during Super Bowl LVIII.
“She was like, ‘Good job, proud of you, good game.’ Like, ‘Man, that was crazy,'” he said on an episode of The Pivot Podcast in February.
“Then she said something about doing these magic tricks,” he continued, explaining that he did a magic card trick the first time he met her at a house party.
“Every time he sees me, he talks about it,” she continued. Then she was like, “Man, you and these cards,” like… “Your hands are magic,” or something like that. Like, “You catch the game-winning touchdown.”
