With the 2023-24 NBA season and the 2024 NBA Draft officially in the books, it’s time for the free agent frenzy to begin.
Klay Thompson, Paul George, James Harden and DeMar DeRozan are just a few of the big-name players available in unrestricted free agency, while several other notable players could be acquired via trade.
The other 29 teams are chasing the Boston Celtics, who stormed their way through the playoffs en route to a record 18th NBA championship last season.

Love and the Miami Heat are finalizing a two-year, $8 million-plus deal, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

Kornet has agreed to a one-year deal with the Boston Celtics, according to KeynoteUSA’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

James Harden has agreed to a two-year, $70 million deal to return to the Los Angeles Clippers, according to The Athletic and Stadium’s Shams Charania. The deal includes a player option for the second year. Charania aggregate.

Chris Paul’s time with the Golden State Warriors is coming to an end.
The Warriors waived Paul before the start of free agency on Saturday, according to Bleacher Report and TNT’s Chris Haynes. He will become an unrestricted free agent.

Max Christie will remain with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Christie, a restricted free agent, intends to sign a four-year, $32 million contract to remain with the Purple and Gold, according to KeynoteUSA’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The deal includes a player option, Wojnarowski added.

The Indiana Pacers have agreed to a four-year, $60 million deal with Obi Toppin, according to KeynoteUSA’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The former New York Knicks forward was traded to Indiana before last season and played all 82 regular season games with Indiana in 2023-24.

Veteran center Alex Len has agreed to a one-year, $3.3 million contract to return to the Sacramento Kings, according to Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic.

Veteran forward Royce O’Neale has agreed to a four-year, $44 million contract to remain with the Phoenix Suns, according to KeynoteUSA’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The New Orleans Pelicans have reportedly added a key piece to their core of Zion Williamson and CJ McCollum.
According to KeynoteUSA’s Adrian Wojnarowski (h/t KeynoteUSA’s Andrew Lopez), the Pelicans have agreed to send the Los Angeles Lakers’ 2025 first-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick, Larry Nance Jr., Dyson Daniels and EJ Liddell to Atlanta. Hawks for a one-time All-Star guard in Dejounte Murray.
