Before Jeb Burton could even get his car off the transporter, it was damaged. The No. 27 came loose during transport and damaged the front end. The NASCAR Xfinity Series driver did not need this setback.
After what looked like a great season in 2023, Jeb Burton hasn’t been at the same level in 2024. His Jordan Anderson Racing car, which was damaged before even being unloaded in New Hampshire, only adds insult to injury.
Now the car has been repaired with Bondo and is ready to race. Practice and qualifying were cancelled, so team 27 will be left blind.
As Jeb Burton says in the US, his main car came loose on the truck and the front end was damaged. The car had a strong bondo smell after repair work in the garage before practice/qualifying.

Last year, Jeb Burton was a race winner and playoff driver. This is Burton’s worst start to a NASCAR season since his 2015 season in the Cup Series with BK Racing.
At this point in the season last year, Burton had a win and another top-10 finish. He also finished eight times in the top 20, and six of them in the top 15. This year, Burton has one top 10 and only three top 20s on his record.
In the last three races, Burton finished P37, P36 and P24. He has gone from bad to worse to an absolute nightmare in the first 15 races of the season. His teammate Parker Retzlaff, on the other hand, has had a good season in her second year in the Xfinity Series.
Jeb Burton and Parker Retzlaff: a tale of two seasons
With Jeb Burton’s season put into perspective, let’s look at his teammate. Young Parker Retzlaff is seen as a real prospect. Especially after the start of his season in 2024. At 21 years old, Retzlaff has a lot to prove, but he has done very well at Jordan Anderson Racing.
With back-to-back top-5 finishes to start the season, Retzlaff was off and running. A couple of DNFs derailed his season a bit, but he bounced back. Strong P11 at COTA, pole prize at Richmond. He then finished in the top 10 at Dover and Portland.
In terms of points, Retzlaff is on par with his 2023 performance. The driver finished 16th overall in points with six top-10 finishes and one top-five on his record. While he has had issues with DNFs this season, five in total, Retzlaff has great potential to earn points and move up the standings.
Jeb Burton is going to have a hard time in New Hampshire. It’s a track where his father Ward Burton won in his NASCAR career. His uncle Jeff won New Hampshire three years in a row in the same race and four times between 1997 and 2000. Jeb will be hoping for some of that Burton magic at the Magic Mile tomorrow.
