It didn’t take long for the Islanders to reorganize their goaltending corps.
A day after director of goaltending Mitch Korn left the organization to join the Predators, the Islanders announced that AHL Bridgeport goaltending coach Chris Terreri will become director of goaltending and scouting.
The Islanders also hired Sergei Naumovs to replace Terreri as the AHL club’s goaltending coach and said Piero Greco will remain the NHL team’s goaltending coach.

Terreri, who has a history with Lou Lamoriello dating back to the early 1980s when Lamoriello coached him at Providence College, has been with the organization since 2017-18.
Prior to that, he worked for the Devils and their AHL affiliates in Lowell and Albany since 2001.
The signing of Naumovs, who previously worked in the KHL, will give Ilya Sorokin a familiar face in the organization after his worst season since arriving from Russia.
Naumovs was Sorokin’s goalkeeping coach during his final two seasons at CSKA Moscow from 2018 to 2020, when Sorokin had his two best seasons in the KHL.

He also worked for the Russian Olympic team in 2022 and worked as a coach in Ukraine and Latvia before working in the KHL.
After finishing second in Vezina voting last season, Sorokin, 28, had a 3.01 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage this season and started just one of the team’s five playoff games. the Islanders in the first round against the Hurricanes, being eliminated. the third period of their loss in Game 3 after allowing three goals on 14 shots.
