We are officially 100 days away from the 19th Solheim Cup, which begins September 13 at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia. With the qualification period beginning to end, things are heating up for those vying for one of the coveted 12 spots available on the US and European teams, and many players are fighting tooth and nail for the chance to represent your country in one of the most important events in women’s golf.
On the American side, Nelly Korda still leads the field of contenders with 2,604 points after claiming six LPGA Tour victories in 2024, and Lilia Vu and Allisen Corpuz, who became major winners for the first time in 2023, are in second and third place, respectively. .
A pair of T3 finishes from Ally Ewing and Andrea Lee at the US Women’s Open presented by Ally shook things up in the top five, as Ewing, who was in sixth place entering the week at Lancaster Country Club, moved into fourth place with 1,137.50 points and Lee He went from seventh to fifth place in the standings with 1,121 points.
Megan Khang and Rose Zhang round out the seven current automatic qualifiers, and Alison Lee and Angel Yin are eligible for the team at this time based on their positions in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. Three captain’s picks made by U.S. captain Stacy Lewis will round out the U.S. team.

The European team will be comprised of two automatic qualifiers determined by LET Solheim Cup points, the top six players in the Rolex Rankings who are not yet eligible, and four captain selections to be made by European captain Suzann Pettersen.
Charley Hull leads the points standings after achieving three T3 or better finishes on the Ladies European Tour this season. Hull tied for third at the Aramco Ladies International in February and then earned a pair of second-place finishes at the Aramco Team Series – Tampa in March and the Aramco Team Series – Korea in May.
Currently second in the standings is 2024 LPGA Tour rookie Alexandra Forsterling with 144.75 points. The 24-year-old German has won twice at the LET this season, capturing her third career title at the Aramco Team Series – Tampa and then winning again in her home country last month at the Amundi German Masters . She also earned two additional top-15 finishes, tying for 8th at the Magical Kenya Ladies Open and then tying for 12th at the Aramco Ladies International.

The six spots determined by a player’s position in the Rolex Rankings are currently occupied by Celine Boutier (No. 3), Maja Stark (No. 17), Carlota Ciganda (No. 29), Leona Maguire (No. 31), Linn Grant (No. 32) and Georgia Hall (No. 34).
Both teams will be defined on August 25 after the conclusion of the AIG Women’s Open. In the 2023 edition of the Solheim Cup, the United States and Europe tied for the first time in the event’s history, with Europe ultimately retaining the cup for the third consecutive time.
