Alex Bowman Ally No. 48 has an amazing paint scheme for the Ally 400 in Nashville, and you can thank him. Dale Earnhardt Jr. for it.
The duo already have a special relationship, as Bowman may never have received his opportunity at Hendrick Motorsports if not for Earnhardt Jr.’s support during the twilight of his time at NASCAR.
Now, when the Cup Series returns to Nashville in just under two weeks, Bowman will sport a scheme designed by the NASCAR Hall of Famer. Check it out below, as Ally Racing shared the car on social media, via a video shoot at Earnhardt Jr’s famous Whiskey River property.
That’s a car ready for Nashville. Bowman hasn’t exactly run well on the track over the last three seasons (he finished P17, P36 and P14 during his time on the circuit), so he’ll hope that Earnhardt Jr.’s inspiration gives him more speed to work with. .
After a demoralizing 2023, in which Bowman missed time with an injury, the driver of the No. 48 has recovered quite well, even with talks about his future at Hendrick Motorsports. He has accumulated ten top ten finishes and even finished P2 in the Daytona 500 behind teammate William Byron.
However, that victory has eluded Alex Bowman until now in 2024. Perhaps with a little help from Dale Earnhardt Jr. in Nashville, at a track where his sponsor will also be the race’s namesake, he will be able to finish the job on June 30th.
Alex Bowman explains how he deals with pressure amid NASCAR winless streak
Alex Bowman last NASCAR The victory took place in Las Vegas, during the start of the 2022 Cup campaign.
Since then, Bowman has faced countless disappointments over the past two seasons. Multiple injuries have caused him to miss a number of races, while his Hendrick Motorsports teammates have seemingly gotten over him in the meantime.
Although he is secure in his position at Hendrick Motorsports after signing a contract extension ahead of the 2023 campaign, the noise is getting louder for Bowman. In the midst of his winless streak, Bowman took some time to explain how he’s dealing with the pressure right now.
“It’s more about wanting to win and get back to performing like I know we can,” Bowman said, via RACER’s Kelly Crandall earlier this season. “Selfishly, I don’t really care what other people think. I don’t want to win races just because I drive for Hendrick Motorsports, I want to win races for me. I want the trophies for myself. I really don’t give a damn about the rest.
“Running like we have done has been very frustrating. I have worked very hard and done everything I can to get back to where we need to be. So, I don’t feel external pressure, it’s just me who wants to win for me.”
As you can see, the pressure isn’t getting to Alex Bowman or the No. 48 team, and that’s a tremendous mentality for them.
