MIAMI – Adrian Houser is buried in the Mets bullpen, but not forgotten.
The embattled right-hander, who was removed from the rotation in recent weeks due to lingering problems, will start again Tuesday in Cleveland, as the club’s sixth starter, according to manager Carlos Mendoza.
Houser was scheduled to start last Wednesday in Philadelphia, but after he warmed up twice in the bullpen the day before, he was removed from consideration.

Instead, the Mets called up Joey Lucchesi for the start, in which Houser was used in relief.
In eight appearances this season (six starts), Houser has pitched to a 7.44 ERA.
Sean Manaea is the Mets’ scheduled starter for Sunday, and Tylor Megill will be recalled from the disabled list the next day to start against the Guardians.
Carlos Quintana is scheduled for Wednesday’s series finale in Cleveland.
Brandon Nimmo returned from a stomach issue that sidelined him for two days, but lower-body cramps forced him out of the Mets’ 10-9 loss to the Marlins in 10 innings.
Tyrone Taylor, who had entered the game as a pinch runner for JD Martinez in the top of the ninth, remained in the game as a left fielder.
Nimmo’s spot in the batting order came up in the 10th and the Mets used DJ Stewart to hit for the pitcher (the designated hitter spot was lost when Taylor came in to play defense). Stewart struck out.
Kodai Senga is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Sunday, according to Mendoza, as the Mets wait for the right-hander to give approval to begin a minor league rehab assignment.
On Thursday, president of baseball operations David Stearns indicated there was optimism that Senga had found a level of comfort with his mechanics that would encourage him to move forward in his rehabilitation.
The last time Senga threw a bullpen session was Wednesday, and Mendoza admitted that the four days between sessions are longer than most pitchers take.
“He has a unique personality,” Mendoza said. “He is a player who knows himself better than anyone and we are going to continue giving him time and everything he needs to get back on the mound.”
Drew Smith remains scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Monday, after which he will be evaluated for a minor league rehab appearance.
