Super Bowl champion Jason Kelce may have dominated the gridiron, but it’s Kylie Kelce who rules the gridiron.
“I have to admit that Kylie beats me and it’s frustrating,” Jason, 36, tells KeynoteUSA while discussing his relationship with Kingsford. “Kylie takes four hours to try to make some ribs and somehow she keeps making better ribs than mine right now.”
Jason hopes his partnership with Kingsford will help him gain an edge over his wife. (Jason teamed up with MVP Vince Wilfork for his new “King of the Grill” campaign.)
“I’m using this partnership to get in touch with people who are really, really good at grilling, so I can finally beat Kylie,” he jokes.
After an impressive 13-year NFL career, Jason officially retired from the NFL in an emotional 45-minute speech on March 4. But even though he’s no longer playing, he certainly won’t be turning his attention away from the game.

Jason has signed on as an analyst for KeynoteUSA’s Monday Night Countdown, which airs each week before Monday Night Football, for the upcoming season. He also tells KeynoteUSA he’s excited to enjoy football as a fan.
“I’ve been playing in the NFL for a long time. I haven’t been able to experience it as a fan for most of that time… Now that game days are behind me, I have time to take in the game day atmosphere from a different perspective,” he said.
Another way he hopes to stay connected to the sport is through barbecues. Jason tells KeynoteUSA he remembers cookouts being a central part of his family’s football culture when he was growing up. Now, he hopes to give the three daughters he shares with Kylie, 32 — Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 15 months — that same experience.
“I think anyone who has been to a football game or an event knows that barbecuing is a very strong part of our culture. It’s been a very important part of our family life and the places we’ve visited and the communities we’re part of… Now maybe I can take them to some pre-game parties,” he says.
But Kelce’s daughters have yet to catch their father’s barbecue bug.
“They’re not big carnivores like me, at least they’re not into it that much yet. I think Wyatt is going to start doing it. Right now we’re still in the chicken nugget phase,” she laughs. “But there are other things. You make macaroni and cheese and all the toppings that they definitely love, like corn and other things that come off the grill too.”

Jason and his brother Travis Kelce are also a bit picky. While in London attending Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, the brothers tried out some local British cuisine for a recent episode of their podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce.
Although Jason appreciated the food more than Travis, they both had some hilariously negative reactions to the food.
“I don’t see the point,” Jason said of the full English breakfast he tried. “Yeah, it’s what you’d expect. It’s beans and toast. Very bland.”
