Calvin Pickard took the lead in game four and was alert, stopping 19 of 21 shots faced en route to the victory in game four. Pickard started game five and was alert, stopping 32 of 35 shots faced, but it wasn’t enough as the Oilers lost game five. The Oilers opted to turn to Stuart Skinner in game six and he stopped 14 of 15 shots faced. León Draisaitl leads the team in the playoffs with 23 points. Connor McDavid has 21 points in the playoffs. Zach Hyman leads the team with 10 goals in the postseason.
Canucks lose game six
Vancouver was a +165 underdog in game six and lost 5-1 against the Edmonton Oilers. Nils Hoglander scored the Canucks’ only goal. Arturs Silovs allowed five goals on 27 shots taken.
The offense was good for the Canucks this season. Vancouver ranked sixth in goals per game and 26th in shots per game. JT Miller led the team with 103 points. Elías Pettersson scored 89 points. Brock Boeser led the team with 40 goals.
Defense and goaltending were very good this season for the Canucks. They ranked sixth in goals against per game and sixth in shots against per game. Demko appears week to week with a knee injury and he may not be ready for this series against Edmonton. He will be missed as Edmonton’s offense is one of the best in the league. Arturs Silovs started games four, five and six of the first round and was very good. Silovs shut out the Preds in game six to eliminate them. He struggled in the first game against Edmonton, allowing four goals on just 18 shots, but was bailed out and still pulled out the win. Silvos struggled again against the Oilers in the second game, allowing four goals in a loss. He was much better in the third game, stopping 42 of 45 shots faced. Silvos was good in game four even though the Canucks lost. He was alert in the Game 5 victory, stopping 21 of 23 shots faced. Brock Boeser leads the Canucks in the playoffs with seven goals.
